Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how we work, what tools we use, and how we help sole traders and limited companies stay financially organised.

Is RizFin right for my type of business?

If you're a sole trader or limited company director who wants clarity and structure over your finances, yes. See Our Services to find exactly what applies to you.

How do I know if RizFin is the right fit?

If you want to understand your numbers instead of avoiding them, and you're ready to get organised, this is built for you, whether you already know exactly what you need or you're not sure where to start.

What can RizFin help me with?

Whether you're self-employed or running a limited company, we help with: setting up correctly from day one, keeping your books current, staying ahead of VAT, payroll, and Revenue deadlines, and filing your returns properly and on time.

Do you support partnerships, DACs, or trusts?

Not yet: right now we work with sole traders and limited companies. Partnerships, Designated Activity Companies, and trusts aren't supported structures at this time.

Do you only work with Dublin-based businesses?

Not at all. We work with clients across Ireland, and with non-resident founders and directors who have a business registered in Ireland but live elsewhere. Everything is handled digitally, so where you're based isn't a barrier. See our guide on director requirements for overseas founders if that's your situation.

How much will this cost me?

Pricing starts from as little as €100/month for ongoing bookkeeping, with setup, filing, and closing-down services priced separately depending on what you need. See our Services page for the full breakdown by stage, and we'll confirm your exact scope and fee in your proposal, no surprises once you're already a client.

How do I start working with you?

Tell us about your business through our intake process. We review your details, confirm scope and pricing, and get started, typically within one working day.

How quickly can you actually get started?

Once your engagement letter is signed, we ask for your documents within 7 days (or at least 3 weeks before your agreed start date if that's later), so we have the runway to set everything up properly. See our onboarding process for the full step-by-step timeline.

I'm not confident with numbers, can I still work with you?

Yes. You don't manage the records, we do. You'll get clear, current reports and can always ask questions about what they mean.

My books are a mess, can you still help?

Yes, and you're not alone, most clients come to us mid-mess, not with everything perfectly organised. We've helped people catch up on years of overdue VAT and move from a shoebox of receipts to a proper system. No judgement, just a plan to get you sorted.

What accounting software will we use?

Whatever's right for your business: your existing software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho) if you have it, or ours if you don't.

How do I send documents and stay in touch?

Through secure document sharing, with regular contact by whatever channel works for you.

Do I have to commit long-term?

Depends on the service: ongoing support like bookkeeping works best as a continuing engagement, while registrations or a one-off return are project-based. We'll confirm what's right for what you need.

Can I work with RizFin if I already have an accountant?

Yes, we can support your day-to-day records and prepare information for year-end without replacing your existing accountant.

What if I want to move from my current accountant?

We handle the transition, including organising your records and coordinating a smooth handover.

Can you deal with Revenue or the CRO on my behalf?

Yes, as a Revenue tax agent and authorised CRO Electronic Filing Agent, we can act on your behalf with Revenue and the CRO, not just prepare information for you to submit yourself.

Why do you need ID or compliance documents from me?

Irish anti-money laundering law requires us to carry out verification and due diligence checks before and during every engagement, supervised by the Department of Justice's AML Compliance Unit. It's a legal requirement for every client, not something specific to you, and it protects both sides of the relationship.

Are these the only services you provide?

These 11 are your primary starting points, not the full picture. Once we understand your business through the intake process, we'll confirm any ancillary services relevant to you: things like VAT returns & filing, payroll processing, your B1 annual return, VIES or VAT OSS registration, or RBO registration get added alongside your primary service once we know what you actually need.
